Quick answer

FoxFolio Cloud hosting includes a malware scanner that checks your website’s changed files every day. Open Malware Scan in the control panel to see results and choose Scan again after a fix. While infected files remain, sending mail from the website and scheduled tasks can be paused automatically; they come back after a clean rescan. The scanner finds problems; cleaning them is not included.

Before you start

  • An active hosting service
  • Access to the control panel

Applies to: Cloud Hosting, WordPress Cloud, Managed WordPress.

Reading the results

  • Red entries are files judged risky. Treat them as a problem to fix.
  • Yellow entries are lower-risk notices, often about logs, database exports or zip files.
  • Infected files are also marked in File Manager, and a warning appears on the service.

Steps

  1. Open the scanner

From your account, open the service with Log in to Control Panel and select Malware Scan.

  2. Review the latest scan

Look at the scan history and the list of flagged files, and note each file’s location.

  3. Deal with red entries

Follow What to do if your website is hacked. Usually that means replacing infected files with clean copies, updating software and changing passwords.

  4. Scan again

After fixing, choose Scan again. If no infected files remain, website mail and scheduled tasks are switched back on automatically.

What you should see

The latest scan shows no infected files, the service warning is gone, and website email and scheduled tasks work again.

Troubleshooting and common mistakes

Contact forms stopped sending email.
Website mail is paused while infected files remain. Clean the files and scan again.
A file you trust is flagged.
Check where it came from. If it is a genuine plugin or theme file, reinstall a fresh copy from the official source and scan again.
Nothing changed after a new scan.
Scans only look at files that changed. Make sure you replaced or removed the flagged files rather than editing a copy.

When to contact FoxFolio support

Open a ticket if a clean rescan does not restore website mail and scheduled tasks, or if you cannot tell whether a flagged file is safe. Managed WordPress customers get alert interpretation and initial triage; malware cleanup is quoted separately for every plan.
