Quick answer

After you place a hosting order, FoxFolio Cloud issues an invoice. Setup starts automatically once the first payment is received, and you get a hosting-ready email when the service is active. You then sign in to your account, open Services → My Services, choose the service and select Log in to Control Panel. WordPress is not preinstalled; you install it or request the migration.

Before you start

  • A completed checkout for Cloud Hosting, WordPress Cloud or Managed WordPress

Applies to: Cloud Hosting, WordPress Cloud, Managed WordPress.

Emails you should expect

  • Order confirmation: what you ordered, the billing term, the amounts in CAD and, for two- and three-year terms, how the first-year promotional rate and the remaining years make up the prepaid total.
  • Invoice and payment receipt: the invoice for the order and confirmation once it is paid.
  • Hosting ready: sent when setup is complete. It explains how to open the control panel from your account. It does not contain a password; you never need one for the control panel.

Steps

  1. Pay the first invoice

If payment was not completed during checkout, open Billing → My Invoices and pay the unpaid invoice. Setup does not start until the first payment is received.

  2. Wait for setup

Setup runs automatically after payment and is usually quick. Your service shows Pending until it finishes, then Active.

  3. Read the hosting-ready email

When it arrives, your service is ready. Keep the email for reference.

  4. Open the control panel

Follow Open your hosting control panel.

  5. Put your website in place

Upload your files, run the installer, or start a migration.

    • WordPress Cloud: run the WordPress installer yourself, see Install WordPress on your hosting, or ask for the free migration.
    • Managed WordPress: FoxFolio Cloud completes the initial installation or migration after a compatibility review. Reply to our message or open a ticket with your details.
    • Cloud Hosting: upload files or use the application installer.
  6. Connect your domain

If you chose to use a domain you already own, point it to FoxFolio Cloud once the site is ready. See Point a domain you own to FoxFolio Cloud hosting.

What you should see

Your service shows Active in My Services, the control panel opens from your account, and your website content is in place or a migration is under way.

Troubleshooting and common mistakes

The service still shows Pending after you paid.
Check Billing → My Invoices for any remaining unpaid invoice. If everything is paid and the service has been pending for more than one business day, open a ticket.
You cannot find the hosting-ready email.
Check spam and junk folders. You can still open the control panel from Services → My Services once the service is active.
Your domain shows someone else’s page or an error.
The domain has not been pointed to FoxFolio Cloud yet, or the change is still spreading. See How long DNS changes take to work.

When to contact FoxFolio support

Open a ticket if a paid service has not become active within one business day, if the order confirmation shows a term or amount you did not choose, or if you need the free migration started.
