Create a mailbox
Create a new email address in the FoxFolio Cloud control panel, set a strong password, and send the first test message.
Quick answer
Open your service’s control panel from your FoxFolio Cloud account, select Email Accounts, type the part of the address before the @ sign, and choose Create Email Account. Replace the suggested password with your own strong one if you prefer, store it safely, and allow up to 30 minutes before the new mailbox receives mail.
Before you start
- An active hosting or Basic Email service
- A domain attached to that service
- Room within your plan’s mailbox limit
Applies to: Basic Email, Cloud Hosting, WordPress Cloud, Managed WordPress.
Steps
Open the control panel
Sign in at account.foxfolio.cloud (opens in a new tab), open Services → My Services, select the service and choose Log in to Control Panel.
Open Email Accounts
Select Email Accounts on the service overview.
Enter the address
Type the part before the @ sign, for example
salesforsales@yourdomain.ca, and choose Create Email Account.Set the password
A password is generated for you. You can change it to one of your own. Use a long, unique password and save it in a password manager.
- Stored mailbox passwords cannot be viewed later. If one is lost, set a new one from Email Accounts.
Send a test
Open webmail from the mailbox’s options, then send a message to and from another address you control.
What you should see
The new address appears in the Email Accounts list and can send and receive mail, usually within 30 minutes of creation.
Troubleshooting and common mistakes
- Senders get “mailbox does not exist”.
- This is normal for up to 30 minutes after creation. If it continues, check that the domain’s MX record points to
mx.stackmail.com. - The control panel will not create another mailbox.
- Your plan’s mailbox limit may be reached. Remove unused mailboxes or contact support.
- You want an address that only forwards mail.
- Create a forwarder instead of a mailbox. See Forwarders, autoresponders and aliases.
When to contact FoxFolio support
Open a ticket if a mailbox still rejects mail an hour after creation and the MX record is correct. Never send the mailbox password to support; we do not need it.
